Product Overview
Our English word "Rosemary" comes from the latin ros marinus which is translated "dew of the sea". It was given this name for its ability to grow in a very dry climate, surviving only on the dew from the nearby Mediterranean Sea. Tradition says that rosemary plants used to have white flowers. A Catholic legend claims that when Joseph fled to Egypt with Mary and Jesus, when they stopped to rest, Mary spread her blue cloak to dry on a rosemary bush. And ever after the rosemary bush produced blue flowers. The scent is said to aid your memory while the oils are said to be antimicrobial. People claim that burning rosemary deters pests and freshens the air. Regardless of what bugs and microbes think, rosemary is a unique and pungent herb that is an excellent addition to many different dishes.
